Looks like it has been exposed to water, perhaps hurricane Katrina
This explains the binding rot, and the tail lift, and the bubbling of the high gloss finish.
Some one along the way has replaced the bridge pick up, and mucked around with the wiring harness, as the "rick o sound" output is missing.
