- Stevie Ray Vaughan Played circa 1960-1961 Rickenbacker 450 Black Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #4C 280A.
This is a Rickenbacker that was used by guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan in his very early days. The guitar can be seen in book Stevie Ray Vaughan - Day By Day Night After Night in The Southern Distributor band photo on page 15.
The guitar originally belong to Patrick McGuire, the rhythm guitarist for The Southern Distributor. The guitar comes with a typed letter from Patrick, dated and signed August 5th 2023. There is also a letter from Darryl Haynes dated and signed on August 8th, 2023. The letter is to Patrick McGuire discussing this guitar and SRV playing it on numerous occasions. This was a very pivotal point in SRV's life, as he was about to leave The Southern Distributor and venture into The Blues.

Cool Rickenbacker 450 with the cresting wave body shape from circa 1961. Original electronics with pot dates of 6006 (6th week of 1960). The jack may be replaced. Replaced screws on the tailpiece and two non-original holes in the pickguard/body, possibly from a finger-rest. Normal playwear and checking. 7.11lbs. Original hard case included. Condition: Good.
