     1964 Rickenbacker 4001S or Rose Morris Export model 1999.The finish is original and very clean. All the parts original to this bass except the bridge pickup (an older Ricky reissue horsehoe) and pots. The Blue tone capacitors have been saved. The pots are are from a 1975 Rickenbacker 4001. The Rickenbacker book shows 101 made for export in 1964 and a few for the US market. This has a very rare 4005 like feature in that it has the large walnut laminate down the neck. It also has a volute behind the neck, of which only a dozen or so have been reported over the years. It has a 6 pole piece neck toaster pickup.All these features have been verified by the guys at Rickenbacker USA.It's in excellent condition with only a few bumps and scrapes. The frets are in great shape as the previous owner had flat wound strings on for a very long time. Really nice bass, fully set up and checked over by my technician Chris Ward. Serial: DD-417.
