Please send your serial number submissions via email to the Rickenbacker Registration Page and the numbers will be posted on this page with the feedback of whether the estimate is "high" or "low" in reference to the number on the jackplate. You may enter once daily. The winner will be the one who is first to identify the correct serial number. The contest ends on July 31, 2000 should the exact serial number not be identified by that time. Should the serial number not be identified by July 31, 2000 the entrant with the closest estimate will be declared the winner.
The present owner (who has been duly sworn to secrecy) provides you with some of the guitar's history, along with some hints and writes "This lightshow was owned by the
guitarist from ABBA (so I'm told) and it was most recently owned by Travis
Tooke of the late For Squirrels. The lightshow plays like a
dream and the lights on it are always a crowd pleaser. There are no mods to
this guitar (all original) and the only point of alarm was a headstock crack
during the filming of For Squirrels' "Mighty KC" video which was a tribute to
the late Kurt Cobain and very popular in 1995. The crack was professionally
repaired and is hardly noticeable. The lights on this guitar literally play
with you while doing riffs and single notes. When strumming chords, the
lights will light up depending on how hard you hit the strings and how high
you have the "intensity" button. This is every guitarist's dream."
