Re: 4003 British Racing Green limited run

I always bypass the cap on any basses that have it. What I’ve typically found with more recent (relatively speaking) 4003 basses with the 1” spacing neck pickup is that the neck pickup is relatively underpowered compared to the bridge pickup, relative to my old basses. With the older basses ...

Re: Glueglo - how to fix?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. BTW, those basses aren’t mine!

I’ve seen the Winfield stuff before; wasn’t there some issue with shipping celluloid binding?

Also, even if you did replace the binding, given that the reaction has normally spread into the wood already, isn’t there a ...

I think it’s just the perspective. His hands don’t look especially big here:

Re: Jon Camp’s OTHER Ric…

Given that most of the stage lighting is on the red side that certainly adds to the burgundy look of the Jetglo. Life was so much easier/better when the world was still in black & white.

Yes, exactly. Lots of red light. I’d say probably Jetglo. I’d still like to know what ...

Re: Jon Camp’s OTHER Ric…

Most of the places I loved historically have been flattened and replaced. I often wonder if there’s someone following me around with a wrecking ball.

Btw, here are some pics to show why I thought the bass was burgundy. I suspect the footage has a red tinge anyway, and that there is some ...

Re: Jon Camp’s OTHER Ric…

Looks like a cool venue Jeff. I never got to see them live; not sure why, as although I didn’t hear them until ASFAS (via Northern Lights, natch), I did start going to gigs in 1979.

Re: Jon Camp’s OTHER Ric…

Was that watching him live at a show or watching him play in front of you? I’m typically too immersed in the show to pick up much stuff live.

Must have been great to meet them both and chat!

Re: Jon Camp’s OTHER Ric…

Cool story! I must admit, I was jamming along with A Song For All Seasons earlier (I haven’t actually learned anyone else’s parts properly in years; the luxury/laziness of always playing originals  ) and thinking how intricate some of the parts were. I think my problem would be not so much ...

4003 British Racing Green limited run

Hi all,

One of the few modern Rics I’ve been interested in is the British Racing Green 4003 limited run. I did play one in a store back in 2018 (IIRC) but it was through a terrible cheap amp. It felt pretty nice, a bit weightier than my ‘72s, similar neck profile but a bit chunkier, but it was ...

Re: Jon Camp’s OTHER Ric…

It’s strange how it looks so different on my tv. Although having said that, I've just been looking at a BG that looks black in most photos…
