Re: Leo Quan Bad A** II Bridge Install
Ged used a BA 1 and not a 2 on his main 4001's. That's what I installed on mine and it's great. They're just hard to find. The only one of his Rick's that had a BA 2 was the white 4080.

Re: 4001 pickup replacement suggestions
The cap is still in place. Everyone I mention it to has no idea what I'm talking about, so it's not been bypassed. I doubt it's the string, as I've replaced just that string before and the issue has still been there.

4001 pickup replacement suggestions
I've read about this problem in passing I believe on some newer basses (I can't remember exactly) but my 4001's E string volume is incredibly weak compared to the other strings. My only guess is the bass is old (a '76) and maybe it's time to update it a bit. I figured since I already replaced the br...

Re: Some Jazz Bass advice please?
I got both of my MIM Jazzes in the $300 - $350 range and they're both excellent basses. A new MIM is going to be a great instrument and spending upwards of $800+ on a new player is going to be a waste, especially if it's unknown if he's going to stick with it.

Re: Hugh Laurie?
He's been a part of The Band From TV since 06. Granted he's not the leader of that band but he's a great piano player. This is to promote his solo album I think.Geddy Lee wrote:Since when has Hugh Laurie been fronting a band? He should co-headline a show with Tim Robbins in a mid-life crisis double header.

Amazing band. The EP is awesome. It's nice to hear such crooked stuff come out within the past couple years.

Re: School paper on the 4000 series
The registry has an extensive photographic archive. There's scholarly threads in the bass section on every model and all production colors. The Smith book has a great history. Well I'm not sure if my teacher wants pictures. Also, I know about all the great threads in the bass section, but the teach...

School paper on the 4000 series
I'm doing a research paper on the history of the 4000 series for my composition class and I'm having trouble finding spots with good info. Mostly I've found company history (not what I'm doing) and price lists with a few magazine reviews. Now I'm not asking you guys to do my work for me, since I sti...

Re: interpol
Their new record came out today. I like it a lot. First half sounds like classic Interpol and the second half has a lot of keyboards to it. Still really good though.
