Re: Orange Micro Terror whoopeeeee!!!!
Yes, a big cab really does the trick Craig. Originally I had a Tiny Terror, put it through my band mates Marshall 4x12. It sounded truly amazing. Sadly 4x12 cabs are a bit too much for me to lug around, hence the 2x which does do a great job with the Dual Terror. Hey! Are we the only guys with Orang...

Re: Orange Micro Terror whoopeeeee!!!!
Congratulations.
I too like Orange amps
Was considering getting a Micro Terror as a gig backup for my Dual Terror.

Re: New JangleBox pedals
Here is a question primarily about using the Janglebox Byrds model with a Tonelab SE and a '68 RIC 340. I just spoke with the nice people at Janglebox and ordered the Byrds model Janglebox (they have suspended the regular JB2) to use with my RIC 340. I have been using a Vox Tonelab SE and 3 Pathfin...

Re: New from NAMM: Guild Electrics - The Newark Collection
Thanks for posting that demo John. But why oh why oh why do people demo/review guitars with an absurd amount of distortion. Those Guilds might be very nice sounding guitars but tbh a cheap £100 pound guitar wouldn't sound any worse with all that discretion and mush. Great shame as I expect in the re...

Well done and congratulations on both counts
Sounds like you've travelled a long hard road to get where you are.
Welcome back, from a newbie

I'm right down in the south west of the UK in West Cornwall, where it's 'next stop America'
Car indicated outside temp of 1 deg C, home unit registers 3.3 C, guess its warmer near the house haha! Icey north easterly wind, quite cloudy so hope it doesn't dump that disruptive white stuff on us.

Re: Echo Units Past and Present
I too give Zoom the Thumbs Up. I have a Zoom 1201, it's a 1U rack unit for those who don't know it. It's not ideal for live 'gigging' work but as a studio tool it's excellent and have recorded some convincing Shads sounds with it. Going back to the post about echo chambers I can say there's nothing ...

Re: "Turn! Turn! Turn!": The Album
[/quote] Another aspect is that until 8 Miles High (don't shoot me) Roger McGuinn's guitar solos were not very complicated. I suppose George Harrison's solos at the same time were not complicated either. Beginning with Younger Than Yesterday the guitar chords and solos advanced quite a bit. That's j...

Re: Backline
For about a year now I've been using an Orange Dual Terror c/w a Marshall 1936 cab with a Celestion G12T-75 and a Celestion Vintage 30. This works pretty well for my band needs. Also have my littl' miss stay at home Fender Deluxe Reverb ReIssue which works so well with my Ricky 12 string. Am just be...

Re: Amp for 12 string?
Back to OP and hoping that the poster has got himself sorted by now, should hope so by now :D but.... If this is any help to anyone checking this thread I too had a Fender ( VibroChamp ) Champ and really couldn't get a good sound from my Rick 660-12. The Twin Reverb proved to be too heavy and clean. ...

Re: The Zombies 50th Anniversary
The Zombies, an excellent band, had a great sound and wrote good songs. Sadly they didn't quite get the success they deserved, over here in the UK as previously mentioned.Their songs live on today luckily, for example "She's Not There" ,having been covered by many well known artists. Worth...

Re: more jangle out of your ric 12
Yes, this is an interesting observation However I've always used heavy plectrums, currently favouring 96mm Dunlop Delrins. And to be honest with the picking rhythm style of playing I use, with thin picks its not possible to get the attack and articulation. So I'm actually fascinated as to how a thin...

Re: Henry McCullough out of danger
Doesn't seem so good but before we get too morose, this sounds like fairly early days.
Many people have made remarkable recoveries after being given the thumbs down by doctors.
Lets hope and pray Henry makes a good a recovery as possible.
We wish him well

Re: Which Fender amp for the Beatles/Byrds sound?
Fender Deluxe Reverb ReIssue gets pretty close to my ears. In fact and I may get slated for saying this but I didn't get the sound I expected from my 660-12 until I got this amp. Think a Janglebox would finally nail it though. However, although the Beatles did use Vox amps, in later time and beyond ...

Re: more jangle out of your ric 12
Interesting thread... Playing a Byrds style picking style I can't do it with anything other that a .96 plectrum .Using anything much lighter doesn't give ( for me anyway) any attack as thin plectrums seem to flick over the strings without the attack. Maybe thin plecs are ok for general rhythm playin...
