I've really had it with this bass...

Mark, et al,

After replacing the truss rod in my '97 4003, I find tightening the rods is causing the fingerboard to seperate from the neck.

I've spent all the money on it I care to, and would now like to sell it to you (or anyone else) to repair and re-sell at a profit.

Mr Hall,

I never would have thought to place the washers at that end of the rod!

Please explain why you say the problem is probably at that end of the truss rod, and advise what washers to use (part # 06121?).

As you know, I snapped my truss rod some time ago, and will be ordering new parts ...

Mark: Checked the grain on the headstock and neck and it appears to be one piece of wood with the grain running parallel.

Mark,

My '97 4003 has needed frequent truss rod adjustments since I bought it (new).

When in adjustment, action is nice and low (Pyrimid flats). In 4 to 6 weeks, however, the action is once again high and another truss rod adjustment is in order. The bridge is as low as it will go.
