Amp advice for a Hofner 5000/1 bass newbie

Any suggestions?

This would be just as a practice amp.

Muck and the Mires

I love these guys. I became familiar with them via Little Steven's Underground Garage Show. Now I see their recording a new album with LA punk guru Kim Fowley. How trippy can it get?

Anyway, the singer guy plays a Rick, and the lead guy a Gretsch.

In the case of my nephews, both are quite musical what with years of piano and school band. Guitars were just the next logical step.

They're thrilled apparently.

Couldn't you just make a louder knob and make "10" the loudest?

Thanks George. Those Hal Leonard sets are fairy ubiquitous (even seen them at computer stores). Thanks for the tip!

By no means have I got an extensive surf music collection (but that can always be remedied)!

The Ventures put out an instructional record back in the '60s that I believe actually charted. Is this something worth seeking out? (Second question: Available on CD or not?). Not interested so much in the actual collectability, but rather the therein contained educational value).

Clueless newb here...

Wow, I must have lucked out. I recieved my first Rickenbacker at about this time last year (330 Turquoise) shipped from England. The temperature was hovering at about minus 30 C.

Opened 'er up right away. Not a problem.

Now I'll know for next time!

Picked up two of the DA5 units as Christmas presents for my nephews. They're nice little amps.

Loved those Rhino Nuggets CDs. Had several of the individual CDs at one time. I just might have to get the box set too.
