Well, I will pick up my compressor soon (Ross copy) and will use it mostly to compensate some dead notes. Hope it does that and more...

Would that be the SKB-44 case? Or wouldn't a 4001 fit in there?

Case for 4001

So, my '75 4001 came with a ****** non original case. Now I'm thinking about buying an original Rick case, but are they worth it? Or should I just buy a no-brand case that fits my bass?
What's the best way to get one (I'm in The Netherlands)?.
Thanks!

My 4001 has only minor bridgelift. Would it benefit from that mod?
I'm more worried about the dead spots... Image

So, played two straight 4h rehearsals with my new baby. Fabulous bass, but... I found some dead spots. What can be done about that?
Tomorrow the guitar will be professionally set-up and checked. I will also let him do the .0047 mod. Anything else I can have him do?
What's the 'standard' height of ...

Well, I've bought it! Wooow!
It's in a little rougher shape than I thought, but that's ok.
And there's nothing wrong with the pickups! Just a little loose wire...

Now, any tips on cleaning and set-up?

No, it's not the same. It is from the same seller though. The other one was way too nice for me, wouldn't dare play it... This one has some wear, so I won't have to be as ...

'75 4001 buying help

Hi guys,

New here and new to Rick basses. I've always wanted one and finally got the opportunity to buy one at a nice price.
This december '75 mapleglo 4001 has only one problem, the treble pickup is dead according to the seller. But this shouldn't be a reason to not buy it, or is it? I know ...
