I had that kind of noise after I reassembled the bass after refinish. The problem was one of the output jack sockets. I think the mono output. Just clean the switch (contact points) on that jack. This is a remedy for a sudden increase in noise. General shielding against electromagnetic radiation is ...

I wonder if the diameter of the in the headstock holes are the same or if my bass has been redrilled to accomodate the small Schaller tuners. What is the diameter on the standard ferrules? Does anybody know? This is the headstock as it looks now: http://archives.rickresource.com/oldattachments/31698...

Thanks for welcoming to the forum. Frode, I live at Nesodden close to Oslo. I have owned this bass since -92. When I got it (cheap), it was badly refinished in solid red (kinda fender fiesta red) with the paint flaking off, worst in the backside. The pickguard was the wrong (newer) type, and the bod...

Hi all! This is my first post, so let me introduce myself: I'm living in Norway, I work as a musician and play lots of different basses (fenders, gibsons). I have one Rickenbacker 4001 from -75, so this thread caught my attention. Also the name Frode sounds very norwegian, right Frode? I'm sure you ...
