Re: This Just Happened...

Thanks for the comments. I've been covered up with work. As for the questions on contact paper... No, but I'll defer to Pat Wilkins. It is some sort of transfer that is clear coated over, then blended with the finish. I had him do a bass for me with same pattern (Kenny H. knows it), but that one was...

Re: This Just Happened...

Mr. Zanders plays an older Rick on some songs... I've half thought of asking if they wanted to borrow it... Be a fun goof.

360 Rick w/ Scatterwounds and Pedal Questions

I bought this one new in '90. I am back to it. I am using an Xotic booster and nothing else through an AC30 Anniversary, Hand Wired, with Blues. I am getting a very sweet BadFinger kinda sound (if that makes sense), but I can roll it up a little brighter. As a side note, there is a 460 on Reverb wit...

Re: Jackson Browne Model

Thanks for the replies. Mr. Griffiths, Can you share a description of how it sounds and how it is wired? My only point of reference is 360s with Hi-Gains and Toasters. I am particularly interested in the humbucker. I've heard they more like a mini humbucker and can be splittable. In any event, very ...

Re: Jackson Browne Model

Thanks, guys.

What I am wondering is if he played one, other than the "Panda" types and doing slide? I can't hear it anywhere. OR, was this an experiment/venture?

Doesn't really matter much either way (to me at least), I was just curious.

Jackson Browne Model

Kids, I am wondering about the Jackson Browne model/prototype. I've done a little digging before asking... But here we go. As near as I can tell, the Ricks on his albums are the BakeLite slide guitars. Right? I cannot find a PIC of him playing a standard Rick ES. Most of the songs I hear, apart from...

Re: Thoughts on Playing Lead on Rick

Just looked. Line 6 is multi effect, still through my combo.

Got it.

Thanks,

Re: Thoughts on Playing Lead on Rick

John, Thanks for the detailed reply. I am going to check my Hi-Gains on the 480. I fiddled with the 360 last night. On Line 6, do you plug into a powered speaker, then, or just DI into the house and rely on the floor monitor? That must be a lightweight rig! If it sounds convincing enough for live wo...

Re: I'm learning to play and I'm in doubt...

I would absolutley with everything Brian said and retuning a ukelele is a novel idea! However, I'd be careful with non-standard tunings at first. You are going to have to learn the chord shapes and how to move them about and figure things out. I think non-standards at an early stage could foster bad...

Thoughts on Playing Lead on Rick

Kids, These questions/thoughts have been generally covered before (and I've looked around before posting), but I've got some nuanced questions/concerns I'd like collective feedback on. My latest project has bumped me over to lead. (I've comfortably occupied the rhythm slot for many years). This new ...

Re: I'm learning to play and I'm in doubt...

I am going to step on some toes here. Sorry, kids. Any musical instrument can be fun. I've played guitar for years and play around with ukelele's when one is around. My advice is to pick the guitar back up. These days, there are tonnes of YouTube videos you can get for free and work through probably...

Re: White 360

Biscuti,

Good point and close eye. I didn't blow it up, but I saw sound hole.

The guitar screams white or checkerboard pickguards!

Re: White 360

Thisismusicinc,

Look closely, his is black binding and black trim. Someone swapped out the black hardware for chrome. So, I don't think that rare, but a beauty.

What would look really cool is white guards!
