The original top is long gone, and has been replaced with a veneer top. The owner says the original top did not have a pickup and there's no hole in the sides for a jack. The current owner's grandfather bought it from a pawn shop in California in 1957.

Can anyone help me identify this guitar? The peg head has the old Rickenbacher spelling. The original top has been replaced with a flat top, so I don't know if it had a pickup originally.
