Re: Making Backing Tracks
This is a question which I have been asked quite a lot of times so I've had a text-file prepared for quite some time...... :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Creating backing tracks which a...

Re: Burns' Guitars Showcase
And I forgot to mention: there are about 100 000 video and sound clips of the original beatles on Youtube and I guess the beatles' lawyers will find a single home-recording on a private forum quite low in priority so I think you can safely post your music here. They might get to you in a hundred yea...

Re: Burns' Guitars Showcase
The rendition was good regardless of guitar......... How long does copyright last? Quote from the Internet: Generally speaking, copyright in music and lyrics lasts for the life of the creator plus 70 years . Copyright in a sound recording usually lasts for 70 years from when the recording was first ...

I've noticed that your rendition of Sleepwalk (very nice too) is already available for download on your homepage, so you have already handed it out to the world............

Re: Burns' Guitars Showcase
Hallo Markus I don't think that you need to worry about publishing (or linking to) your own recordings on these kinds of forae even if the song itself is copyrighted (which, I believe lasts for 50 or even 70 years). Another matter is publishing an original recording by let's say The Shadows. Just ch...

Re: Man Of Mystery (1960)
Obviously, some kind of blender or mixer rather, will be used this Saturday evening when drinks will be prepared (necessary to put up with the songs competing in the Swedish finals of the European Song Contest..................... )

Re: Fender Bender
Hi As stated in another thread I've now re-recorded Fender Bender for Youtube publishing, using the 024 patch but with a bit more treble supression on the echoes. However, I did not take the time to adjust for the actual sound which is a bit more raw and using the strat with cs54's even less raw. Wh...

Re: Man Of Mystery (1960)
Hi Marcus, wrong thread, I believe..... Anyhow, seriously, I have played Burns and I'd say the sound of the guitar itself is not that far from a strat ( it actually is sort of a strat-clone.......). The Burns era sound is probably more of a combination of the AC30TB sound and some studio wizar...

Re: Fender Bender
Hi Peter The patch I used on Fender Bender is probably my own F3 patch for the 508 (Had to dive into the individual track), together with a little stereo reverb. This patch along with F4 for said device I use for the Burns-era numbers (those with the almost dry sound). I try to accomplish this by re...

Re: Man Of Mystery (1960)
Yes, I'm well aware of that. However, my main concern isn't to reproduce the early sound totally , which has been more or less proven impossible by many players, but to play the right notes with the right timing and ,hopefully, feeling so that most listeners will find it convincing enough, a task no...

Re: A couple of YouTube clips featuring yours truly!
It certainly is, I always use neck pup for these slow ballad-type numbers (when recording)
For live playing I sometimes use the middle or even the bridge pup to get through the backing better
