Re: Help needed: looking for an amp

Thanks Gary!

I'm really happy to note that the sound has really nothing in common with the AC4BL i've tried once.

Re: Help needed: looking for an amp

I've bought and just received my AC4HW.

First reaction is: WOW. I just need a reverb pedal and i'm all set.

Re: Help needed: looking for an amp

Thanks y'all for the tips!
I've heard about the tube remplacement for much headroom.
I love the amp's look so much i might fall for it anyways.

I'll have a look at the Superchamp and the Traynor first.

I'll let you know once i've made my decision :D

Re: Help needed: looking for an amp

I've looked at AC15 of course but it seems too big to play only at home.....I've tried a AC4TV but it sounds very thin and boxy. I don't know why it is that so many amp makers feel that lower wattage amps must use smaller speakers and cabinets. Carr seems be one who doesn't, perhaps check th...

Help needed: looking for an amp

Hi there! I've read this sections thorougly as well as other forums but i don't find the answer to this question. I have a 330 JG with regular hi gains and i want to buy a small tube amp. I've looked at AC15 of course but it seems too big to play only at home, though the MV button seems quite useful...

Re: My first Rickenbacker: help needed!

The string is very close to the 1st fret indeed. No need to hit the string too hard to hear the buzz.
And yes, it's when playing open E.

Re: My first Rickenbacker: help needed!

Hi guys! Finally got my guitar today, i'm so happy! :D

One thing though: there's a buzz on the 6th E string, due i think to low action. It looks and sounds like it's vibrating on the 1st fret. :(

Any suggestion on how to proceed?

Congrats on your purchase.

Great guitar, great Ric collection.

Re: My first Rickenbacker: help needed!

Mmm...Sounds great! I've had a look at the videos on youtube and i've read the reviews.

I was more into tubes but this one might be the right one for me. Seems versatile, very small, headphone out, perfect.

Thanks a lot!

Any other suggestion, anyone?

Re: My first Rickenbacker: help needed!

Mmm...i'm more into clean and crunch. I think I'd rather buy a distortion pedal if necessary. To keep peace at home, I'm also thinking about an iRig HD to practice with headphones on because from what I've seen so far, there are very few amps with headphones plug.

Re: My first Rickenbacker: help needed!

Thanks a lot, guys! One of my major concerns regarding the amp choice is that i need to keep the volume to reasonable levels: i live in Paris, where flats are small and walls thin like paper. As much as i wanted a Vox (it was my first choice), they're far too loud. I guess the 22W Fender Delux...

Re: My first Rickenbacker: help needed!

Hello again, Finally ordered my first Rick. :D I opted for a brand new current 330 JG, can't wait to receive it. Thanks to you all for your help! My next move will be to choose a good ampli to play at home. I'll open a thread to get your advices on this too, i'm already kinda lost. I've heard some g...
