The Hello Goodbye video promos are by far the best source.

Re: My Paul McCartney MMT Paint Job

Very cool. What are you doing on the back of the body? McCartney's was white. When I had my C64 done by Paul W, he did the back of mine in an amber fireglo. It came out very nice.

I've never seen any pics of the back of McCartney's bass...anywhere.

This is a nice job, but did you paint over the ...

I left it in its natural state. I love the original finish and wanted to try to maintain as much of it as possible ...

My Paul McCartney MMT Paint Job

Hi all.

Just wanted to share with you the amazing work my friend Amanda did in transforming my Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo bass guitar into a one-off Paul McCartney "Magical Mystery Tour" special. Here are a couple of the work in progress shots she took during the transformation process.

I would ...

Re: New Clatter vid

I really enjoyed that. Great song, great performances and great production. Love the bass sound too. Downloading the complete album now. Being a drummer/bass player, this is right up my alley.
Fantastic stuff!

Re: Legit 4003?

Thanks everyone!

It is now official. I am an official 4003 owner.

I can't believe I bought and received my guitar from Colorado to Toronto all in less than a 24 hour turnaround time. I must say that Wildwood Guitars is a fantasic store to deal with. Top notch! Best price on both the bass and ...

Re: The Book is alive!

Glad I saw this thread. I was hoping to find a cool book about the Rickenbacker bass and I did. I just received my book today and I'm looking forward to reading and seeing some of the history.

Re: Bridge Pickup Cover

Sorry. I just edited my original post to more clearly define the question. But yes, you assumed correctly as to what I was refering to. I could have sworn I heard something about the cover providing some sort of additional resonance to the sound the bass produced, but I definitely could be wrong ...

Bridge Pickup Cover

Newbie question #1...

I've seen some videos pertaining to how to remove the bridge pickup cover on the 4003 model and can understand the reason for doing so from a playing standpoint, but how does this affect the overall sound of the bass, if at all?

Thanks,
Rob

Re: Legit 4003?

Last I heard, the backlog was around 18 months. That means that if you place an order, it might take 18 months to get that specific instrument that was ordered. Now, dealers place orders all the time, so the odds of having to wait 18 months for one are pretty small.

Of course, that depends on ...

you'd see it's a North American warranty. Last I heard Canada still qualified as part of North America.
Awesome. It even says Canada too. Nice! lol

Re: Legit 4003?

Thanks for all the welcomes and all of the info guys. I greatly appreciate the responses. It has helped a lot!

Thank you cjj for the list of places to try. I messaged them all and got a decent price on one from one of the shops you mentioned and it looks very likely that I will pull the trigger on ...

Legit 4003?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post and I'm hoping you all can assist me in making a smart purchase here. I am a huge Beatles, Rush, Yes and Pink Floyd fan who loves the Rick sound and am looking at getting a 4003 but keep getting told that the backorders and wait times for one is months, if not ...
