Re: Bent over a barrel in England??

I just ran some numbers, which can do yourself at http://www.dutycalculator.com. The landed cost, without any brokerage fees, handling, or local cartage, for a US$ 1000 guitar of average weight, is £781.66. That's with no profit yet to the importer, just what it costs him when the goods set down on...

Re: Bent over a barrel in England??

Rickenbacker is a high quality brand and this is reflected in not only the price of new Rics but also in the value of used Rics - again, a point made by John Hall. As someone who has accumulated a reasonable-sized collection of Rics, it suits me fine that the price of both new and used Rickenbacker...

Re: Bent over a barrel in England??

I,m not sure about L&M out in Vancouver but they dont sell RICS here in Ontario for list, at least not the ones I have purchased. My 2013 4003 $1799.00 and my 2013 330 $1675.00. I just checked the price list on the RIC website and the 660/12 list is $3100.00 as of January 1st 2014 Then I need t...

Re: Bent over a barrel in England??

A question that maybe John could answer (or any dealers)?? Can authorized US dealers sell to other countries?? I know with some products (Harley for example) that US dealers can not sell new product into other countries where authorized dealers are selling the same product. Seems even the prices in ...

Re: Bent over a barrel in England??

..Is it a tariff thing or is Rickenbacker themselves charging the extra?? Certainly, not! The retail/dealer cost is determined for a particular country by that country's distributor with the street prices decided on by the individual retailers. So is Rickenbacker selling these guitars to English ve...

Bent over a barrel in England??

So, I'm new to Rickenbacker and looking for a new one, and I have noticed that on eBay and on-line stores that the prices of Rickenbacker's in England are unbelievably high compared to their American counterparts, like almost double in some cases?? What is the reasoning behind this?? Is it a tariff ...

Re: eBay 660/12TP question??

This guitar looks really familiar... ... Who knows? The previous owner knows!  That was the original case when I bought it, and I had no reason to think that it ever had a different case.. About the COA: I have not been able to locate it from having taken it out of the case when I to...

Another 660/12TP question??

So............... I've been reading up on this guitar, as I love the thing, but in conversation with members and in reading as much as I can, there seems to be a discrepancy on the PUP's in the 660/12TP?? Half the post I read say that the PUP's in the TP are normal 7.4 K toasters, but others say it ...

Re: eBay 660/12TP question??

The guitar doesn't have, what I thought was, the stock silver/black case. It is also missing the COA, and the optional non signature shark fin to save the signature one from getting scratched. . . . Does the missing case and shark fin make this guitar less valuable in the future? A silver/black cas...

Re: eBay 660/12TP question??

Is it possible to get a new COA for this guitar from Rickenbacker? AFAIK, they will not issue a new COA, but I did get a personalized letter from customer service at RIC for my Townshend LE stating that it's serial number was one of the original 250 etc. That's nice to know, but I think I'll get ho...

eBay 660/12TP question??

There is a Rickenbacker 660/12TP on the bay right now, it seems to have a few things that might affect it's value and I'd like to know if my thoughts are true?? The guitar doesn't have, what I thought was, the stock silver/black case. It is also missing the COA, and the optional non signature shark ...
