I would actually like to find some incorrect black pickguard screws. I think it would look much better against black pickguards and hardware than the regular screws.Gilmourisgod wrote:Found the pickguard screws here:

I didn't see "add" the first time I read through this.antipodean wrote:White/Black: add $500
I thought, "what? Why would white/black be of such comparatively little value?"
Then I saw "add" and felt kind of dumb.

Re: 4003S Truss Rod Nuts aren't Parallel
Sometimes it takes a long time and a lot of work to get a long neglected neck to straighten out... I would just keep fooling with it and don't be so afraid of it. If the truss rods were shot it wouldn't straighten out in the first place. I see. That's no problem, I can be patient. I will adjust it ...

Re: 4003S Truss Rod Nuts aren't Parallel
Well, it looks like this saga continues. I got it back from the shop. All the tech did was a setup, with a little extra work to the rods (he told me he manually straightened the neck then adjusted the rods to keep it there. I didn't bother to tell him that doesn't apply to the 4003, haha). The relie...

Re: And so it begins...
Sweet! I immediately noticed this bass is a lefty and got excited! (Ironically enough, I think this is the bass I just happened to be thinking about earlier today. I recalled that I remembered seeing a lefty S for sale here several months ago, and I wondered where it ended up! How bizarre.) How is L...

Re: Who's still waiting on a 4003S?
Still no word on Walnut S basses. I'm curious to know how one can find this information. I recently asked Chris for a quote on a lefty S, but he said he could not provide a quote as no production information was available. I think I remember John Hall posting that RIC makes all left-handed instrume...

Re: How to get more gurgle/belch and less clang/screech.
Dane makes a mode that converts a V63 into stereo without changing the looks or modifying the body. I have it on my V63 and it is really nice for when you want it. I had him make me a stereo harness for with the push/pull cap option and 60s-70s spec pots. I just put it in, and it is awesome! Run in...

Maybe beyond all odds and a miracle will happen a lefty will show up somehow... ihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihopeihope
...yeah, right.
Although I don't think I see myself paying $5,000 for one, even if that would be a fair price and I had the money.

Re: 4003S Truss Rod Nuts aren't Parallel
Don't you need the stereo wiring/jack even to be able to split the bridge pickup, assuming you mean running the bridge pickup to two separate destinations while running the neck pickup separately, too? Is this the Tuxedo bass??? GLAD to see that you were able to get the problem fixed. :D Also, I'm ...

Re: 4003S Truss Rod Nuts aren't Parallel
Just a question, why did you put a stereo jack in it? Do you run two amps or two channels in the same amp? Oh, yeah! I was in love with the stereo option until just the other day when I instead experimented with splitting the bridge pickup. I think running stereo sounds better when sitting in front...

Which number goes in the "Certificate Number" field?
The field for "Certificate Number" - should that be the number of an instrument in the run, listed on the front of the certificate ("is number x in a production run of y"), or the number of the certificate itself, printed on the back?

Re: How to get more gurgle/belch and less clang/screech.
Play with the mids. Rick basses love mids. +1! I've been paying a lot more attention to mids and using nickel Rotos on my Ricks. Also agree about how important a toaster is, especially on a '60's Rick. A stereo jack it is, then! I sent Dane a message inquiring about the possibility of making a harn...
