Re: Curious about a '99 Rick bass I found

That really is a gorgeous bass, Ash. It would match my 360/12 nicely.

One of these days when I can justify having two Rick basses, I'll get myself a V63.

Re: Curious about a '99 Rick bass I found

By the way, loopy, I did not mean to hijack the thread, but this sounds to me like a v63. I ordered one of these back in the late 1990s and the place I got it from was doing a big business in 4001v63s in all of the colors that Rick offered back then. I know Jetglo had to have been a pretty common ...

Curious about a '99 Rick bass I found

I'm out shopping for a Rick and I found an interesting one. It's pretty much a 4001S, with horseshoe pickup and toaster neck, dot neck, no binding, mono, square heel and judging by the sinking finish it looks like it's neck-through. I wanna say it's a V63 but it's black. Never seen a black one. Shop ...

Heat it while clamped straight? Am I understanding this correctly? I'm curious how that would help, what problem that would correct. Have you had that done to one of yours?

Goofy neck on my 360/12...out of ideas/patience

Hey y'all.

I've been struggling with this stupid thing since I've owned it. It's a '91 or something. I've had it for maybe 5 years?

Nevermind the Sunn. That's the best photo I could find of it without trying too hard.

Anyway, so ...

Re: 360 12 Stringing tips

I do the strings in the slots of the headstock first, they're the most difficult. I cut to length and kink them before I put them in. That way I can tune up with one hand and keep tension on the other without it slipping. Then I do the outside strings. I've seen some people put all the strings in ...
