Re: 4000/1/3 vs. 4004 Poll

I played a few early models and for some reason neither was the best sample of the marque. (Poor action and response)
I'd love to try a new trams green one with the two piece neck.

Re: One pickup 4004

The problem with losing the neck pickup on a 4004 is the issue of what to do when a truss rod needs to be removed... It's not worth the cost to redevelop the truss rods just to allow for one less hole. However if that were the case the neck strength at the heel would be substantially increased.... E...

Re: Favorite Artist's Ric Bass Moments

Some of my favourites: Lee Jackson (Refugee) - Grand Canyon Suite Peter Giles (King Crimson) - Pictures of a City & Groon (both from In The Wake Of Poseidon) Chris Squire - Catherine of Aragon (Rick Wakeman's Six Wives of Henry VIII) - not much bass on this track, but what's there is sublime, C...

Re: Someday a new shortscale

There was at least one short scale 4003 made some years ago, it was jetglo and may have been an S bass.
It was on EBay about five or six years back..

Re: The saga continues... (v68)

It's here! Haven't tweaked the setup yet but it's playing great out of the box. Thanks, Larry! :D Sort-of unrelated question: When the E string is in tune, every subsequent note (starting with 1st position F) is quite flat. The strings on this bass are really old, so I'm wondering if that would be ...

Re: 4002 pickup guts

Here's a totally dumb question but I'll ask anyway. If I have a 4004 pickup rewound with 42 gauge wire and install it in a J position, would it sound like a 4002? I would doubt it, There is the magnet structure and coil shape to take into consideration as well.. However the simple act of using para...
