Re: XTC - What is this bass?
Great tune by one of of my fave bands! It looks like Colin is playing a Kay 4001 copy. Its probably just a prop for the video - a Rickenbacker (or look-a-like) would fit the "Avengers" 60's theme better than a Wal.

Better be at the store early tomorrow Stefan - I heard they've had lots of interest in this guitar and its first come, first served!

Re: Beautiful bass on the bay
My first 4001 was that colour as well. I sold it in the early 90's but still hope that it might crop for sale one day in the Toronto area...

Re: 4003 Deadspot Issue
As to minimizing or eliminating dead spots, that may prove difficult with wood as it's character and density changes within each piece of it. Probably even cutting the wood to shape changes it's character. This is why some builders use carbon fiber for their instruments (ZON, Status Graphite, Modul...

Re: New Limited Run Sea Foam Green 4001C64
Ok, I got one (huge surprise right? ). The "SG" Special Green is beautiful - much lighter than the original Sea Green.
Very close to my "Mint Green" Stingray, but a tad more subdued.
Many thanks to Chris at POTR!

Re: reviews of 4004
I agree with Dane - there can be a big difference in necks. My 2008 4004 BBR has a terrific feeling neck - very flat in the back and easy to play. I liked it so much that I picked up a 2005 (?) 4004 MB. Unfortunately the neck was much chunkier and more work to play. I'd definitely look for a more re...

Re: New Limited Run Sea Foam Green 4001C64
Well, it would appear that there is the possibility of a dealer being able to order a number of instruments in custom colors. Well, as it happens there's another order in house for 75 instruments covering 3 models in a special color. In the past our production system would be clobbered up making gu...

I highly recommend the Diamond Bass Compressor. Top quality components/build and sound. I don't play without it!

Looks like a great time was had by all! Sorry I couldn't make it, but family commitments and Monday morning work conspired against me. Next time for sure!
