I did, until I realised that I could stick together several layers of the adhesive sponge displayed in the link below, until reaching the desired height. quite expensive but this is due to the fact that the seller is in Europe. In any case, apart from the modifications, I am not sure I like the paint cracks in the neck area close to the nut

I was in San Francisco in October and visited a musical instruments retailer in the surronding area of SF
They had two 4005XC...one in FG the other one in JG
i do not know how long they had been in stock at that dealer.

It used to have those fillers. I had it modified in 1990 when I purchased it. It was nearly unplayable due to the worn frets, so I needed to refret it. In that context the black fillers were removed; the front of the headstock covered with a maple sheet and the sides with rosewood. The whole neck-he...

Those are the tiny cavities on the wood that are stuccoed (filled-sealed) before the lacquer finish is applied

No, the painted finish on the C64S fretboard is much much thinner compared to the C64
But still there is some on it
