Re: Post Rickenbacker's video
Here is one..... Me performing at a gig, with some great musicians - covering some Elvis (the other Elvis). I have an old 80's Marshall 3520 bass head that I use sometimes. It really brings out the trebly Ricken-tone...

Re: FISH OUT OF WATER, DRYING OUT...
Wow, very interesting thread from a while back. I guess that bass (or the three made) could be called 4001CSse. CS (special edition). Or 4001FOW.. (Fish out of Water edition). He's gone too soon. RIP

Re: Pickup Placement Differences?
I think the 1/2" spacing (looks) better as many others do, and I think tone wise its very subtle. For me, I find having 1/2" spacing is better for my way of slap bass playing.. I find there is more of a "click" or "pop" that occurs sometimes when I slap on a Rickenbacke...

Re: You Can't Use A Rickenbacker For.....
Let me ask a related question: understanding that bass in general can be tough to record, I've read that Rics can be particularly difficult. Let's say we're in a quality studio with a competent (and not lazy) engineer. Is there something about a Ric that complicates the recording process? None at a...

Re: You Can't Use A Rickenbacker For.....
ehh, insult? I think the only insult is from the (idiot's) in bands, music director's ect. that cause these stories to be told in the first place.. P.S. I have never experienced anything bad myself with using a Rickenbacker bass, as of yet.. Like many bassists here on the forum, I've played, rock, b...

Re: You Can't Use A Rickenbacker For.....
I've read a couple of stories on this stuff on here before... It seems its usually (control freaks) and inflated ego type idiots that don't like Rickenbackers.......all the more reason to play my 4001v63 more and more and more.....on every type of song. And it sounds great!!!!! Make the (Idiots) suf...

Looking for a good place to get a bass Refinished..
Anyone suggest a good Luthier that refinishes Rickenbacker basses and maybe an estimate of how much it might cost $$ ??

Re: 4003s's
I've lurked over at Talk Bass for a while and still have yet to create a user profile and use that forum.. Great place for a lot of good Bass info.. After lurking for a while and reading the threads going on over there about RIckenbacker QC issues, I agree- that the TROLL factor as well as the "...

Re: Anatomy of a 5-string (show us your 5-ver)
http://www.3dentourage.com/425/4004cii5_46.jpg I did a google search and found this pic (above link) of this 4004/5 modded with larger pickups. Looks like it could be owned by someone that may post here at this forum.. I'd like to see a YouTube demo of how it sounds. It would be cool to see how that...
