Back to the topic, what about a chemical reaction with the finish between the foam/poly or rubber grommet/poly? I've seen a reaction between the Gold backed pickguards and the rubber grommets. Will either eat into the finish after a period of time?

Back to the topic, I believe that temperature change/humidity DO make a difference with Rick Guitars. I've noticed a few 660/12s where the binding was cracked by protruding frets. I believe that the neck wood can shrink the slightest bit causing this problem. It might be from the frets not being ...

John G,
The thing that's missing with the Dano is the MADE IN THE USA label. I hope that Rickenbacker NEVER uses the sweat shop mentality of Guitar making for profit.

That's a KNOCKOUT Bass! I think it would actually be more like the '63 on page 203 of Richard Smiths book. Only because of the non crushed pearl inlays.

64ish 4001 Reissue?

I remember reading somewhere that John Hall was giving some consideration to a 4001 reissue with deluxe trimmings. Such as checkerboard binding, long triangle inlays, walnut wings, toaster & horse shoe pickups, plexiglass thumbrest and the like. Any rumours out there?

Thanks for the response guys. The reason I asked is because there is a VERY small crack in the finish where 4001's fingerboards usually separate. It seems to only be a finish crack and it's only on the low E side of the neck.

4001CS Neck Adjustment

I'm sure it's been discussed before but should the 4001cs truss rod adjustment be performed like an older 4001 or a 4003? The main issue is if the neck should be pulled back of forward before turning the truss rod nuts. Or is just turning them alone the proper procedure.

I want to express my appreciation to all involved with the gathering on Saturday. Everybody was super nice and the Instruments were exceptional! It was great to see things that I had only seen in books before. To actually hold and play a Rick Doubleneck was such a thrill! I was the one who brought ...
