Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

Mine looks similar to yours, you can see a bit of glue at the neck/body joint. It isn't awful so I don't have a problem with it. It plays and sounds great. I didn't have the F-hole problem and the frets are fine. It is finished nicely. I also looked at my 2002 380PZ and the glue can be seen there ...

Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

News from the seller front. They agreed it was bad finished and took a closer look too the other Ric in stock, and said that isn't in a good shape also. They were so kind to send me a photo of the one in stock. See photo:

Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

I have bought at least a dozen new RICs since 2005 including a 330W/6 in 2014. I have never had a problem with any. It obviously happens but my experience is rare. I have never gotten a new RIC and said "OMG". They've always been done well and quite playable right out of the box. :D :D

Hope your ...

Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

I've had two from Nov 2014 both with problems, but I've returned.

Ok! What was the exact reason you have returned them? Also problems with the finish?

Like is said before, I'm a pretty amateur, but why do I read everywhere that Ric's are almost alway perfectly finished. Or was that years ago ...

Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

Stories of customer complaints seem to be on the rise on this board in the last year or three. I would try to get a refund from your dealer. If you like the walnut Ricks, maybe consider a nice used 650D or 650S from the 90's or 2000's?

Thanks for your reply! Anyway, those are not the alternatives ...

Off course I have a serial number and its from June or july 2014... Does that make any sense?

Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

Hi there,

I just registered at this forum to get some things clear about my new Rickenbacker 330w. As I’m not that talented in playing, I mostly buy guitars just to have them as sort kind of furniture. Of course I play every now and then, but I love guitars and want to own all guitars I dreamed of ...
