Paul's Epiphone Casino
Other than in pics from the early 70's and in Live 8 with U2, Saturday night in Philly is the first time I have ever seen Paul use his Casino in concert. He used it for Paperback Writer. He said he used that guitar to record that song.

Nothing silly about that. I have the same feeling and wished the same thing many times since.kiramdear wrote:l No other loss in my whole life has hit me like that. I know it's silly but I'd give just about anything to go back in time and somehow erase that one event.

A hint in the new Rolling Stone Magazine:
"analog to digital converters have vastly improved since then, and they were able to work at a higher resolution than before: specifcally, 24 bit, 192 khz, which is used in the Blu Ray audio format... but alas, there are no plans yet for a Bly Ray release ...

Re: Beatles Remastered Box Set U.S. Prices
I think this is a major mistake not remixing these discs (like the Yellow Sub Songtrack). No Hi-Rez, nothing!
Of course, I will be buying them.
These will sound better than the 87 cd releases but in no way surpass the Yellow Sub Songtrack, Let It Be Naked, or the Love CD. No way can they get the ...

Re: Concert for Bangladesh
While waiting to buy the video (which I will be doing this week), I thought we'd start a discussion about it, such as George's band, Bob Dylan and all that.
Here's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from the concert:

Re: Macca Citi Field reviews with incorrect info
Were people on the field? There are 45,00 seats in the stands but they probably had seats on thei field, right? How many seats cold they put there. Just a thought.
As for Blackbird, he isn't entirely wrong. There was whistling like a Blackbird on the Beatles version. :D

Macca Citi Field reviews with incorrect info
Here are some examples of wrong info written by journalists reviewing the Macca shows at Citi Field:
NY Daily News: "As a further reference to history, Paul brought out a special guest at one point - Billy Joel, who last summer closed down the crumbling Shea.
Together they performed a song from the ...

Re: McCartney Citi Field
Great Show on Saturday night. Could not have asked for more perfect weather.
Macca was in great voice. In fact, I think he sounded better than he did in 2005.
Surprised that he played electric guitar for Paperback Writer. Nice to hear Day Tripper.
Something new for a change!
If you haven't seen him ...

Re: You can see 'em...but you can't hear 'em, yet
No way will they have the clarity and separation of instruments of those with just a remastering. To have vocals on 1 side on a late song like "Here Comes The Sun" is astill travesty. It sounds so good on the "Love" cd with vocals on both sides.
Then get the mono CDs. The vocals will be on both ...

Re: Allen Klein Dies
He was a crook. Stole the early Stones copyrights from them. Defended Harrison during the "My Sweet Lord" lawsuits and then turned around (after he was fired in 73) , bought the rights to "He's So Fine", and continued the lawsuits against him.

Re: You can see 'em...but you can't hear 'em, yet
I still think it's a crime that they have not remixed the music. (I'm sure they will do that in a few years to make some more money) They will sound better than the original 87 cd's but I have a very strong feeling that they won't sound as good as the "Yellow Sub Songtrack", "Let It Be Naked" or the ...

Re: Beatles Catalog Rights Return to McCartney?
I don't believe this story at all. In fact, what prevented Macca from originally buying them in the 80's was that he wanted to buy it in joint with Yoko since he felt it was only fair due to John. She felt she could get them cheaper and in between, Jacko scooped it up. She also knew that after a ...
