Re: N,B,D, Early 1973 4001 Burgundyglo

Talk to Russ. Tell him Joe says thanks for all the love he put into his Rickenbackers over the years!! John is the owner, nice guy as well! Sepp I assume you're referring to the Twelfth Fret in Portland, Org and not the one in Toronto, cause Grant McNeil owns the one in Toronto and is also a great ...

Re: N,B,D, Early 1973 4001 Burgundyglo

Do you know which repair guy at the Twelfth Fret worked on your bass? I'm about to drop off my 73 BG4001 at the Fret to have new frets installed. If you know the repair mans name please send me a PM with it and I'll be sure to ask for him when I drop it off.

Thx,

Re: N,B,D, Early 1973 4001 Burgundyglo

I'm about to take my 73 Eggplant BG 4001 to The Twelfth Fret to have the frets replaced too. They're telling me it's a 5-6 week wait just to get at it. Don't know if I want to be away from it for that long. TD I was talking to John at 12th fret. They will no longer be doing mail in repairs. This ba...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

GC Sacramento still has the same one they got way back when hanging on the wall. Still asking full price. :) Couldn't find it on their web inventory, under used, vintage,or platinum....? Looks like alls they have is a new Fireglo 4003.... Mike Parks at The Rickenbacker Page has a slightly used one in...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

Here's a photo that Dane took of my bass on his workbench having just installed a horseshoe p/u. I'm going to have a brand new horseshoe surround available for anyone interested at a great price. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr347/Thornton_Davis/V__5F9B-3_zpswlzda188.jpg Sorry everyone, I didn...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

Thorton - you got your bass back!!?? Well, not quite. After 9 years I finally accepted that I would never get it back so I did the next best thing I could to replace it (MD-1582). I found and bought MD-1593, also dark BurgundyGlo with all the same features as MD-1582 and probably made the same day ...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

I sold my GC 4001S a few weeks ago. It was a really nice bass and sounded great, but my FG 98 v63 had been my preferred 4001. But that too is about to change as I'm about to step back in time to April 1973.TD I'm working on your time machine. Just waiting on a flux capacitor! Is the flux capacitor ...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

I own one of these, bought it last spring. From what I can by tell by the serial numbers, mine is was the 24th one made in the run. It's a great bass.
