Re: Rick 2020, 2030 and 2050?

Everybody, thanks for the feedback. Todd, I will go with 2030 model.
This bass has a very fat yet defined sound, which I suppose it partly due to the single coil pickups.

Rick 2020, 2030 and 2050?

What is the difference between Rick basses 2020, 2030 and 2050s? :?: The reason I ask is that I have what I believe is a 2030 but the pictures I've seen of these basses have no neck binding and the one I have has binding on it. From the serial # it was made in Oct 85. Any help with this is much appr...

Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...

Paul, what a beautiful project. Eager to see the finish color.
I see you have put a clearcoat on the fretboard prior to the main finish.
New finishing schedule?

Re: 8khz Squeal?

I found the culprit. The battery clip in the guitar had developed a continuity of around 5 megaohms or so between the positive and negative leads. I tested pickups using the guitar's internal battery clip. Boy is my face red. Just thought I'd pass this on to all in case someone else comes upon this ...

Re: 8khz Squeal?

Thanks for the reply beatlefreak. After talking to few folks, I found out that active EMGs have a built in preamp to quiet noise and boost signal. Failure of this internal preamp can cause this noise. I think this guitar must have experienced some sort of power surge, plug into an incorrect jack, li...

8khz Squeal?

Has anyone had active pickup(s) begin to squeal high freqs?
I have active EMG P & J's in a Spector that are both doing this. I did isolate them from the other components on the guitar just to make sure the sound is coming from the pickups. (My ears!)

I found Dale over at the Official Ric site and seems to have alot on his plate.
I ordered a few files from Stew-Mac to make my own.

String Nut for a '66 335

I am in need of a new string nut for my '66 335. I believe the new ones sold at the Ric site are for the current models with a different radius. Is there a source for these older models?

Re: 1966 335 Back in Action!

Glad to see you have a great guitar back in playing order. These guitars sound great when set up right. I have a 66 335 Fireglo also. It is currently being brought back to life and will share some pics at a later date. Are your pickguards painted on the back or are they solid color guards?
