Re: Vibrating wavey Grover causing noise
Thanks for the reply, Joey. Disassembly will probably be the answer. If anyone has an E/A side wavey Grover available, shoot me a PM.

Vibrating wavey Grover causing noise
I have an annoying unwanted vibration that I’ve narrowed down to my A string wavey Grover on my 73 4001FL. Any tips to fix this besides disassembling it? I’ve changed the strings and eliminated other possible vibration areas. I know about the re-swagging exploded Grover technique. Is there grease ...

Re: The 4005XC finally made it to Ozland
Interesting comment about the chromes. I have a set on my XC, and have noticed the same thing. I even put foam under them by the tailpiece also. I might have an old set of TIs around- maybe I’ll give it a shot. I was planning on putting the factory strings back on, but I’m a flat wound guy.

Re: NBD
The wavey Grover on the A string has developed a rattle. I didn’t notice it happening when buying it, and may have developed upon cleaning it up post buy. There seems to be a bit of play in the machine head. Any tips on resolving the rattle? I thought maybe injecting some grease into it.

That’s great that Ben did that. John responded to a request I made for a part for some bass or other I had. How many CEOs would do that for you?

Re: 4005XC
The other consideration on a piezo is you need a mega ohm input for your amp for the piezo to sound good. Check the ohm input rating of the amp you are using. If it is only a kilo ohm input, you should run the piezo thru a pre amp with a mega ohm input. Ohm mismatch between a piezo (mega ohm) and an ...

What under bridge piezo are you using?Dom wrote: Fri Feb 10, 2023 12:04 am Sounds like you’ve survived a Teisco.
It is string changing time, so I ordered some under pickguard thumbwheel controls for my piezo mod.

I’ve been using this for years with my electric bass, upright bass, or guitar.

Probably should be fixed in the registry, maybe with a link to this thread.
