Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!

I was quoted US$4,699 from Wildwood, including freight. I'll be up for local taxes & duties on delivery to OZ on top of that. Despite that I hit the button to order mine.

Re: So the 381v69 is discontinued

Yeah, the 381V69 (both 6 & 12), the 350V63/12 and the 620/12 are now 'Legacy' guitars on the RIC website. To my mind the 1993/12 Plus has taken over from the 381V69, and the 660/12 from the 620/12, although their price brackets were a bit different. I suppose they need to drop some things to all...

Re: Rickenbacker.com has been offline recently

The 620/12 is under the Legacy page - https://www.rickenbacker.com/series/legacy/ "These models are no longer part of our current catalog, though remain a part of Rickenbacker’s enduring legacy!" It's a sort of 'Salon des Refusés' for past RIC models. Apart from that, I'd not heard anythin...

Re: Rickenbacker.com has been offline recently

It is good to see the site back, and looking good. However, I was surprised that the 620/12 has been dropped from production. Had that happened earlier, and I'd just missed the memo? On a positive note, the pics on the site for the 4005V show they're using the checkerboard binding on the back. Yummo...

According to a dealer that I contacted, they'll be released in the US summer. Probably @ US$5K.

Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!

Hi Folks,

Any suggestions for Dealers that'd take an order from, and ship to Australia? I'm not sure if I can afford it, but if I don't ask I'll never know.

Re: Rick-o-sound output brighter than standard?

Years ago, when I gigged for a short period, I had an Acoustic 320 which had 2 channels (A or B, or A&B) each with their own tone stack. I figure that'd be suited to Rick-O-Sound. Alas I didn't have a Rick then, and now I don't have the amp. Maybe it'll turn up someday.

Re: 360/6 & 360/12 in walnut

I grabbed a '98 650C late last year, which is a great player. It's definately in need of a clean, oli, and polish. Your post remnds me I need to put this on my list of things to do. That and new strings. Some of the Walnut guitars & basses look absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations on your purcha...

Re: New banjoline video

Well done, Jason! Sounds great.

I had idea of what the Banjoline sounded like, and now I do. The Ballad of Easy Rider seems to me to be a great fit for this instrument.

Re: Touch Up paint for Fireglo, or any other RIC color?

A guitar tech friend of mine would gently touch up chips with a red marker to blend the colour. He recommended auto top coat. However, I've never tried this on a Rickenbacker. Just passing it along for consideration.

Re: Unbound 4003 Series Electric Bass Guitar - Jet Glo

What colour? Sweetwater has some Jetglos, Wildwood Guitars has some Fireglos & a Walnut. If you're not locked into your local supplier you may be able to find what you want elsewhere.

Re: It Happened Again

I feel your pain. My 12-string tailpiece blew apart in the early 00s, but it took me 5 years to replace it - lack of money & no local distributor in OZ. RIC wouldn't deal direct & I had to go through Japan. They were helpful, but it took over a year to get the replacement part. My recommenda...

650D Fretboard Dots

Hi Folks. I've picked up a '98 650D today, in a generally good, but dirty, condition. It's missing one of the two fretboard dots at the 24th fret. The generic replacement dots I can find online are too big. Can anyone recommend a supplier for the correct, or near size, dots? Also, best adhesive to u...

Re: Rickenbacker Luthiers Australia

Hi Gary, Unfortunately, I don't believe there are any RIC authorised techs in OZ. When CMI Music were (again) briefly the distributors for Aust, around 5 years ago, I asked if they had recommended repairers, and the answer was 'No'. With regards to capable luthiers and technicians, it can depend on ...
