Re: 1993Plus!!!
Just got mine, it is sweet and THE best Ric 12 string ever. High praise indeed coming from you! I have to admit, even as a vintage Rick guy, I have played some unbelieveably great 12 strings from recent Rick production. Given the quality I have seen in the last few years (my buddy's new 4003 bass i...

Poaster Pickups- are they potted?
I have some reissue toasters in a vintage Rick, and when I use a compressor or really hot overdrive I get a lot of squealing... which does not win me any friends in the band! I'm assuming it's more a pedal issue, but could the pickups need potting? Would that help?

Re: 1993Plus!!!
I'd prefer a two pickup arrangement, but for a 12 it's not a dealbreaker. When wait times become known I'll probably order one. The first new Rick guitar I've ordered since the RM370 I used to have!

Anyone ever move the neck pickup/rout?
Have a groovy 4001S, but like the 'traditional' configuration of pickups. Easy to buy a toaster and horseshoe, but wondering if it's feasible to move the neck pickup? Anybody ever do this? Should I discard the idea as folly?

Well, I bought this from Ray and a great addition to the arsenal. An incredible amount of work, and a super effort to resurrect a vintage instrument and create player's instrument with a vintage vibe.

Re: A Stroll By Ric Headquarters
I remember when we went to Disneyland a few years ago and I kept wondering 'How far am I from the Rick factory? I wonder if they'll ever do tours?'

Re: Belonging to both Rick fora....
I was a member of the official site but can't log on anymore. I check in there from time to time but this site is better suited to my interests, particularly as I'm primarily focussed on vintage Ricks.

Re: Double Bound Fever Again !
I had my own made....from a beater 330. Blue boy with silver guards.jpg That looks awesome. I wonder how much it would add for Rick to add binding to a 360 O.S.? It's only one more side than the current ones, right? Again, I'm sure they've crunched the numbers and it's a tough sell, I just think th...

Re: Petty & Campbell in Rolling Stone...
The 'red bass' was a surpise, and intriguing that that was the one Rick Rubin preferred for recording. Interesting that he mentioned '60s Ricks sound different than newer ones. I've found that as well (especially 12 strings) and wondered if it was just me!
