Re: 4001 Tailpiece Replacement Options
The other option is to simply fit another stock tailpiece, which is effectively a tail-lift reset. I don’t see how that’s possible. Is there a way to purchase an original tailpiece new? Not so sure I would trust a used one as it may be warped too. Oh, have RIC taken them off their books? Some suppl...

Re: Rickenbacker TR 25 Guitar Amp.
Funnily enough, I was just talking about mine with someone yesterday. I have a TR25 which I bought on a whim at a guitar fair; I left it at the stand whilst I went and looked around and when I got back I practically had to wrestle it off someone who was playing through it. I don't have a Ric guitar,...

Is this genuine Rickenbacker TRC genuine?
Hi, folks - I could use some help with this item I bought on ebay - is it a genuine Ric TRC? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275302876442 I've received it and I'm not sure; it's slightly thinner than on my Ric basses and it hasn't got the moulding dimples in the "n" and the "r" when c...

I don't think I'd put one on a CS model - why go to the trouble of having a replica bass and then modding it?

Re: R.E.M. - Mike Mills' 4001 - odd bridge!
It's a Badass. I think with a surround (ie. not sitting on a plate). I had one on one of mine for a while, with a brass plate to cover the mute bay. Cliff Burton had a pickup in the mute bay, so did I for a while on one Ric, but it sounded rubbish. Bartolini made one to fit there. I guess on that on...

Re: 1972 4001s project advice
Oh, yeah. What's with those three extra holes in the tailpiece route? I wonder if the bridge height screws went through into the body? Dunno if the other one was for a Gnd connection if it was used with no mute, or if the black paint insulated the Gnd; it looks likere's nog wire soldered to the mut...

Re: 1972 4001s project advice
The Hipshot tuners are really good; I have a set on one of my 4003 project basses (plus a Kahler trem bridge).
I also have Hipshot eXtenders (D-tuners) on a couple more.

Re: fake horseshoe pickups?
I don't think RIC's pickups are trademarked.
(And I wonder whether they are in Argentina.)
Some people are driven to use fakes by RIC not selling the parts.

Re: Poor old 4000
I believe that the 4000 was routed for a neck pickup anyway and they just didn't fit one.

Re: Rickenbacker TR 25 Guitar Amp.
I acquired one last weekend.
I've not tried it out yet; it was being used for demos on a seller's stand at a guitar show.

Re: Toggle Switch 4001
Di Marzio do a compatible right-angled switch too, but I'd be inclined to just get the part from RIC.
