Re: I'm after a 4003 Fireglo with a small neck profile. Advi

For anyone else interested in neck comfort. I have a wrist injury that has limited the rotation of my left hand. I took my 87 4003S to a local violin luthier and had him shape the neck for me. 38mm at the nut. 22mm thick at the first fret. 23mm thick at the 12th fret. This is now my favorite bass an...

Special editions

How does one find out about new special edition basses? I just saw a 2019 Rickenbacker 4003S JPS Pearlstar. I never heard of this bass but would like to be informed if any special edition basses are being released.

Re: First attempt at a 4-2-5

Thanks! It was a bit stressful putting a drill bit to the headstock.

Yes, the narrow spacing is perfect for me too. Right hand finger style is no problem.

First attempt at a 4-2-5

This is the third 4-2-5 conversion bass I have owned. The first two were done by Mr Rath but the necks were just too wide for my damaged wrist. This 2017 4003S has a perfect neck for me to play as a 5 string. I had some help from Paul Wilczynski with the headstock and neck paint. Got lucky finding a...

125 B string

I just converted my 4003s to a 5 string. I'm using a 40-120 DR set so the intonation is excellent but I would really like to use a 125 B string. Anyone have success with intonation of a 125 B?

4003 bridge high gain spacers.

My 84 is missing the round pyramid shaped spacers that are normally on the base of the bridge pickup. I can substitute some nylon washers but I don't know how tall those spacers should be. My bass didn't come with the chrome plastic pickup cover so i'm trying to add one but can't get the pickup heig...

No wonder it was just mono when I bought it. Thanks Dane. See you on eBay for a new harness.

Re: Wiring diagram again.

I have both pickups working with the mono jack but the when I roll off the either tone control for one pickup it cuts treble on both pickups. I have nothing coming out of the ROS jack. I'm not far from Paul (Mr Jingle Jangle) but can't afford him either.
