Re: How to remove 'Reissue' Horseshoe pickup cover

The Original Horseshoe pickup had shoes that were part of the magnetic field and was not removable. However, Reissue's have the advantage of removing the shoes since they're basically just for cosmetic show.

Re: How to remove 'Reissue' Horseshoe pickup cover

Thanks for the reply! and hopefully you see the picture attached. Remove all 4 'slotted' screws on the bottom? I'll be sure to be careful since these pickups are a little difficult to come by.

How to remove 'Reissue' Horseshoe pickup cover

Hello everyone! Happy June to all. I have a question, how do you remove the horseshoe's pick up cover on the "Reissue" models? I see pictures of them off and everyone says that it's pretty easy to do but no explanation of how to do it. Some people say, "you need to saw them off" which sounds bizarre ...

Re: Tried Rotosound 55's on your Ric?

Hello! I was thinking the exact same thing and was wondering if they were good strings. They're excellent strings! They aren't 100% noiseless but it's definitely a lot quieter and has a lot of characteristics as the standard strings. I'm recording an EP right now with them and sounds off the hook ...

Re: Finest set of roundwounds available today?

Ernie Ball actually makes great roundwounds. D.A's sound really twangy to me and skimpy but that's what I think. Rotosound makes good ones too but look at their Solo Bass set. Sounds like rounds but feel like flats! The choices are yours to settle for.

Re: Lollar Horseshoe vs. Rickenbacker horseshoe

Thanks for the responses and welcoming me! I'm honestly going for both worlds silly to say but I like the McCartney sound that's like "Say Say Say", the bridge of the song has killer tones and that throaty "Wings Over America" tour when the HS is in use. I like Chris Squire's gritty tones but ...

Lollar Horseshoe vs. Rickenbacker horseshoe

Hey everyone! Just quick question, which one would you pick- Lollar vs. Ric? I heard that the reissue Ric's HS sound like a Hi-gain basically and Lollar actually makes them like the originals. The shoes are part of the magnetic field and brings more of that vintage sound like Squire and some ...

Questions about horseshoe and fittings

Hello Ric forum! My first time posting here! Such a great place for information and kind people.
I have some questions for you all! I'm going to be acquiring a 4003SW soon but going to be converting it to look like a 4001V63. I already have the Vintage TRC, Vintage pickguard W/O modifying, and ...
