I have several B6's from various periods and while they are are strongly related in a blind test I think I would pick the Pre or wartime B6 w/ white plates as the "best" sounding. The '35 plated plates are a little finicky (no tone control), and it seems the first thing I do when playing a postwar ...

An interesting point. Many old Princeton Reverbs had their speakers replaced for no reason. The layout design of the amp is such that a parasitic oscillation is produced at times that mimics a speaker that is failing. Gary, Don't worry about the capacitor. It's a tone cap and there is no tone control. All you have is 1 pot that bleeds some signal off to ground to lower the volume. Straight ahead and simple.
