Re: Spencer James Solo CDs

I have just listened to Spencer's song " Just A Kiss " on Roy's Youtube site. Wow, what a voice and such a lovely tune.

Re: Searcher's DVD

Welcome Pam

Don't intend to go through it all again but Frank and John had really nothing to do with this, it was their representative who had the problem with the producer.

However it is true that when they found out or rather John, the representative was spoken to and it was decided to leave ...

Re: Searcher's DVD

How many members are connected with this forum ? If we all contacted Reelin' in the Years by email, maybe David Peck would be a bit forgiving and approach John or Frank directly. In my contact with him I have found him to be a very polite gentleman who was happy to listen, and he always replied to ...

Re: Searcher's DVD

Hi Roy,
This all happened back in 2008 when this company were first looking for artists to be part of this series of dvd's, and the Searchers were on his list for series 1 of this collection.
I believe that John and Frank only became aware of there rejecting the offer last month when I sent them a ...

Searcher's DVD

Have The Searchers blown the opportunity to have a commercially released DVD ? I believe so. " Reelin in the Years " the company that has released the DVD set with Dusty Springfield, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Herman's Hermits and the Faces, also contacted the Searcher's organisation and were sent ...

Re: Young Girl- An Alternative

I agree, it's not one of my favourites, it is just not a song that adds to the performance. I would rather they replace it in their shows with one of their earlier songs, eg as mentioned in The Searcher's Forum, " He's got no Love " even "Farmer John" or "Bumble Bee", at least these are songs we ...

Re: Eddie Rothe leaving The Searchers?

I have been to 2 Searchers shows this weekend and I'm surprised that they make no mention of Eddie leaving the group during the show or even when doing the intros of the band. It is left to those who know to wish him well during the meet and greet after the show.

Great version, it is always a show stopper when performed during their shows. Thanks for posting.

Re: Searchers Downunder 2008

Hi Howard, yes it was John McNally's Searchers. Extremely entertaining and still playing to full houses whenever they come to Australia. They still have a large following. I did catch up with Mike Pender's Searcher about 18 months ago, it was very dissapointing for Mike, the venue was poorly ...

Searchers Downunder 2008

Just wondering how many aussie members have caught up with the band on their 2008 tour. Managed 2 shows myself, I never get bored watching them perform. They are such great entertainers.

Re: Searchers on youtube

Just an add on to the last posting. Mike B. you're into Aussie 60s music. You didn't happen to front a band back then or were part of one. Name rings bells. Knew a few from then, Normie Rowe, Peter Doyle, Tony Worsley, and some local bands in Brisbane. Might have some photos you would be interested ...

I've just noticed that "Sugar & Spice " has been omitted from the disc, apart from a few seconds in the medley. This was one of their biggest hits, I can only surmise they were not happy with any of the takes of this song. ????

My favourites are numerous, but 'Somebody Told Me', 'The Rose' & 'Seven Nights To Rock' stand out to me as the best on the disc.
I would love to see the lesser hits on DVD, Bumble Bee, Farmer John etc. When they were in Australia in January they did a cover of Roy Orbisons' 'Running Scared' that ...
