Re: Anyone remember "Dark Shadows"?

Just looking at the cast on imdb....the role of "Dr. Julia Hoffman" is certainly getting an upgrade  :

Re: Anyone remember "Dark Shadows"?

Yep, stumbled on it one afternoon after coming home from school...it was the episode where Willie first opened the casket an that ringed hand grabs his neck, LOL...I was hooked.

Later on I had quite a crush on Angelique!

+1. Had to do the same thing with my new 350. Also laid about a dozen rags around the base of the guitar in case I slipped, LOL...

Re: Rooftop concert bassman

Different strokes I guess...I think the raw sound they produced in the studio and on the roof is some of their best--particularly the leads on "Don't Let Me Down", and George's bass line with the Rosewood Tele on "Two Of Us."

Re: Natalie Merchant

Awesome, and IMO, quite a unique voice. The 10,000 Maniacs "Unplugged" album is still one of my favorite all time albums.

Re: 325c64 vs. 1996 AFG Reissue: tone difference?

Missed this post when it first came out, and I no longer own the two... , but no, no real tonal difference IMO. I liked the feel of the neck a bit better on the 1996, probably due to the radius.

Re: older versus newer 325c64

I thought the 325v63s came in around '84, then the JL series 325s came in around '89-'93?

I think the 325c64s came in to distro in '05 for some overseas distributors, and early/mid '06 for dealers in the US.

Re: Crazy to get 325c64?

Ouch!! At one point I owned 5 325s....I decided to go back to a 350, :D :D .

Horses for courses, to paraphrase Sir Martin, eh?

Seriously, they're fine guitars...my clumsy fingers just feel a bit more comfortable on a slightly extended scale.

Re: A new way

Congrats, she's stunning!! I've owned 2 Ric 12s, a 360/12v63, and a 350/12v63. I'd like to think there'll be another in my future down the road, and I've been intrigued by the 660s. I'm far from the accomplished players many here are, but I have to admit, I've never gotten the whole "12 string ...

Re: Musicians Friend Rickenbacker

They don't do this, based on the experiences of a bunch of us who have received 'new' guitars from MF that had older serial numbers. I asked them about their used guitar poilicy one time and was told that anything that they shipped, once it left their warehouse, was considered 'used'. Which means t...

Re: TOO CYNICAL FOR WORDS...

I'm a pretty big Fender fan, but I don't think this particular idea makes for one of their finer moments. I didn't cast a vote as none of the choices really fit from my perspective; it's not the tackiest thing I've ever seen, and they are doing something constructive with the project; I'm just not a...

Re: Musicians Friend Rickenbacker

I've sung their praises to anyone who'd sit still long enough to listen. They've treated me right, they treat the troops right--I trust them. Good point and well-said. My most recent experience, while not a Ric, is typical of what I've experienced with them. A couple weeks back they sent an email o...
