Re: 300 series return to 21 frets
For me, the aesthetics of toaster vs higain is less noticeable than that of 21 fret vs 24. I like both kinds of pickups, they make different sounds. Visually, I get 5-10 feet away from the instrument and can’t tell a difference, unless the lighting is dead on. Smaller headstocks, 21-fret fingerboard...

Walnut 21-fret 300 series?
I haven’t asked anyone at RIC HQ yet, but I will ask here: New 300 series with 21 fret necks. Same change to Walnut-body models?

Re: 300 series return to 21 frets
You’re right - it slipped my mind that there’s nowhere near the neck problems on, say, a 360/12V64 vs. a ‘60s 360/12.
I feel a modern-day 330/12 MG in my future.

100% post-factory.

Re: Wish List - Rickenbacker bass Offerings and Features
John Hall, call your office: 1. Korina body wings / headstock wings 2. Ebony fingerboards (lacquered) 3. 325 shaped Solid Bodies, possibly scaled down to obtain a comfortable weight. 4. Satin finish necks 5. YES! chambered 4003 Bodies. Understood to be pricey. 6. A 100% Wenge 4003 or 4004. I’m sure...

Re: 300 series return to 21 frets
Hard to tell from the photos I posted here, but I could have sworn the pictures that Ric posted with racks of them had lacquered boards, and there has been talk of finished fingerboards returning. Maybe it was just my hopes influencing my perception. If not, bummer. I was loading the gun to pull th...

Re: 300 series return to 21 frets
What I’m about to say is pure speculation. My guess is that the advent of the Rickenbacker 24-fret neck in the first place (‘70-ish) was to combat a structurally weak spot at or around the neck pickup, particularly on 12-strings, and then quickly became standard issue. So what I wonder is whether or...

.039 for a low E string. I guess don’t knock it until you try it, but that seems awfully light.

Re: No bridge with Rick-O-Sound - am I using the right cable?
The only minor issue was that, when on the neck pickup selector, the "bridge" amp still got some signal, not insignificant but also not like you'd expect at full bore. I'm guessing that may be because it's a relatively cheap cable in the scheme of things vs. a Rickenbacker or other active...
