Re: 360/12 re-fret options and tech recommendations

Here comes Kenny Howes, resurrecting an old thread, because the topic has become pertinent in my world. I can refret, and have done so (on a vintage Fender, no less, as described by Collin - not the same guitar). Also did my own '67 330, but that involved more work (leveling the fretboard because of...

Re: Current 4005 bass toasters

I imagine the 00030 pickups are being used. Same as the 00031 but surface mount rather than pickguard-mounted.

Sam Ash is still a dealer - they just don’t have the individual stores listed at this time. Same for Guitar Center.

Re: Variac or Step up transformer?

Lazarus thread time! Collin and I were texting about this topic, and while it appears Don Butler is no longer registered here, maybe you all have some insight. In the interest of maximizing the lifespan and performance of my vintage AC30, I was looking at picking up one of these: https://www.homedep...

Re: 360/6 & 360/12 in walnut

I intend to grab a 330/12W when a secondhand model crosses my path (since they're apparently OOP), but I have yet to plug one in.

Re: Knobs

My Rick guitars I gig with the most: Silver knobs, but the blend knob swapped out for a "vintage" with the line, so I can see it under stage lights. Go figure.

I agree with Collin, both that the silver tops are cooler, and that it's probably a supply issue.

Re: Pre-1984 truss rod question

Well that worked out pretty good! Left the strings slacked and the rods loosened for 2 days, had a humidifier going with the door shut (not 24/7, but for a good while). Today, bent the neck into place and gently tightened the rods down and tuned to pitch. The neck is still not dead flat, but it’s a ...
