I did it to my '74 4001. Take the old one off, clean the area. pace the template with existing screws/screw holes and drill the three little new holes. well, I was looking at the new Rickenbacker web site and it seems to be up and running with a listing of dealers... 3 in MD and 1 in VA. Might be making a phone call soon.

Agreed Paul. Personally I think the pickups may be at an optimum location for a very wide range of sounds ..... but to each their own.

I have. Not too often but I have used it. The old cloth under the strings just didn't seem to do it, especially if you want to pick/pluck the strings behind the pickup cover area.
