To borrow a line from Tom Waits:

I come on this forum, man, and it's like there's history hanging in the windows by the pound.

Seriously, as a "budding" historian of American culture in the twentieth century(that just means I do history for money), I would have loved to have witnessed some of ...

Also, is it at all possible to convert a 360/6 to a 360/12? Would it be honestly be cheaper to simply buy another guitar?

360/6 truss rod and bridge adjustment suggestions!

So I'm an idiot.

Let me start off by saying that.

I developed a bow in the neck of my 360/6. I'm not going to tell you how I did it. I'm ashamed. I know that this can be ironed out with no problem with the correct truss rod adjustment. The problem is I have no idea where to start. Any ...

Did you know that Easter is a modern, Christianized celebration of the Pagan holiday Eostre? Ever the negotiators, the Romans Christianized Pagan religions in an effort to form a homogenous society They were all about control, see. The people still got their ...

A good question for everyone, I think. I've been wondering if there are any Ric heads in my neck of the woods. I hail from Southern Louisiana, Baton Rouge and, the mecca of cool, Lafayette (I'm serious). Anyone in the area?

Is it strange or predictable that a younger generation of Rick users are primarily playing alt/art rock? I think the tone fits perfectly with everything that the "edge" of rock music stands for. Tradition and Progress.

It's what we pretensious dorks call a "Janus."

I have always liked the sound of Rics with moderate to heavy distortion. I agree that the 650 has great potential for "harder" styles of music, but I even like the distorted sounds that I can pull out of my 360/6. Through a slightly overdriven tube amp, this baby crunches up quite nicely.

Just ...

Seems like Ric owners, obviously talented enough to play a Ric, can cover lead parts but prefer the Ric's performance in a rhythmic context. Interesting.

1. I started out in my band as the lead guitar player. That was before I got my Ric. Now I still play lead, but I (almost) always carry the melody through small changes in chords throughout the progression. The result for my playing is that I'm technically a lead guitarist, but because of the Ric, I ...
