Re: Vintage Tuner Replacement Pain

Hmm. They do have different engravings on the back actually. The originals say "RIC DELUXE". I just can't believe they aren't interchangeable! I mean - come on! Maybe I was naive but I just find it amazing. I've got a msater's degree in engineering, and making parts fit was covered in the ...

Vintage Tuner Replacement Pain

I love my V64. It's fantastic. It's a '99 model and has a nice deep fireglo with lovely woodgrain. It's gorgeous, sounds great, plays like a dream and is as cool as a-don't-know-what. One thing that's been wrong ever since I got it though is that three of the (vintage Kluson) tuners are quite poor. ...

Re: 330 spacing?

Agree Ethan. I'm so pleased that RIC has gone back to the samll headstocks and FWIs - awesome

You look at a modern 24-fret 360 and you can see the flat bit where the neck pickup was supposed to be. Breaks my heart.

Re: any love for a 381v69?

I've got a 99 Fg 6 string and it's a gem. Don't stress about the weight - sure it's heavier than a 330 or 360, but it's really not THAT heavy (way lighter than a Les Paul). the extra wood gives the sound a bit more "meat" in my opinion too. The only problem with it is that it's such a good...

It isn't an RM. It's a refinished 1966 model.

Re: new 360 fg

Gorgeous 360

So glad we've got full width inlays and small headstocks back!

Now all we need for world domination is a return to 21 frets....

Re: 360 CW Lefty with RH Neck

Good points Paul - the beauty and relatively complex design of some Rickenbacker features clearly doesn't lend itself to quick and economical "mirroring" as it were. So spoilt we are by the unique awesomeness of Rickenbacker that we want MORE!!! Now I must away - for I have some Cure bassl...

Re: 360 CW Lefty with RH Neck

Always struck me as pretty lazy actually. It seems lefties have traditionally got a raw deal from RIC on features like that (tailpieces, TRCs...)

Now excuse me while I cower and adjust to my new position as Rickenbacker pariah....

Re: Rickenbacker Dressing Room

Good suggestion Jim, but the jazzmaster dressing room is an online tool where you can change all aspects of the guitars appearance with a simple click of the mouse. You can add or change pickups, vibrato units, headstock styles etc all in nanoseconds. It's a really fun tool. Dan, you're probably rig...

Rickenbacker Dressing Room

I've happily wasted lots of time playing around on the Jazzmaster/Jaguar dressingroom tool (available on the offsetguitars website), trying out almost every conceivable configuration of finishes and hardware to my hearts content. And I'm left wondering....why isn't there a Rickenbacker dressing room...
