Check 'em out. Garage-y and cool.
More about the guitar: A '67 basket case bought around '98. Refinned by RIC in '00. Turned out really nice.

Re: 1974 - 481 Slant-Fret Burgandy (value?)
Let me correct myself. I read "481" pickups and thought "480 pickups" meaning the same type of transitional hi gains found on 331 models. Yeah, 481 pickups are rare and pricey! Ha! I've been out of the loop for a bit but damn, lol! I sold one to Melissa B. back in '06 for $200. ...

Re: 1974 - 481 Slant-Fret Burgandy (value?)
Those rare pickups are worth $200. a piece. I'd say $2000. is fair. I had one just like this that I bought in the early '00s for $600.

Brent, welcome to the RRF. A Combo 1000 is perfect for someone his age. You can use either flat wound or round wounds. Short scale scale strings are a larger gauge but they will play in tune and feel like a smaller gauge string. I owned a '57 Combo 1000 a while back. You can sometimes find a correct...

Re: Rick 75th Content..House of Blues Sunset Strip...RIP :(
At one of the HOB bars that night, I heard a knock at a side door. I opened it up and there stood Chris Squire and his wife. I told them to go 'round front.
j/k, I welcomed them and let them in.

Does anyone have any insight on whether it has happened that Grovers show up on a 62 or 63? I have seen open-backed Grovers on a 1964 360-12: 11-fullsize.jpg 12-fullsize.jpg I suppose if the factory was short on Klusons on a particular day they would use whatever was on hand. IMO as long as the tun...
