I like to think of it as an evolved version of my old modded 2-pickup JG 4000 i had back in the ...

Re: Which pre-amp/DI stomp box do you use with your Ric bass?
I just started using a Master Effects Super FORTY. It's a clone of an Ashly SC-40 - I have a couple of those as well. https://www.mastereffectspedals.com/super40 Super_FORTY_Demo_Settings.jpg --jack That Super 800 is tempting for sure. Unclear how well it would work straight into a power amp though...

Ashly BP41 for classic setup, for high tech you can't beat an Avalon U5, sorry no stomps suggestions though. I had that Avalon years ago. Excellent sound for sure. Sold it along with all kinds of other items in a kind of haste. I'm at home with an Earthquaker White Light (DOD 250 ish) these days. A...

Bridge is not an eyesore at all. Roll with it.
Maybe a bezel though?

Furthur to this...
Do I need to grab a mounting plate or pad as well or does it come included when I grab the HB1 direct? It'll be going in a 4000.

I'm having Frank machine a bezel for an HB1 and he's asking for the "pickup opening dimensions" which I assume is this bit.
Anyone able to shoot me a quick measurement I can pass on?

Here's an odd clip with some excellent clean*ish sounds. I can't stop listening to it...cheyenne wrote:Needs more distortion.

Re: 1973 4000 bass in need of a re-fret
It's a YS-15P. Front ported. A handful of bands I'm into and gear dorks on another forum were all about the Dietz & Mesa Thiele type stuff for a while so I snagged this as a version of that. Plenty of low end for my corner of the basement. Bass & guitar in C#. Should match the grill cloth th...
