Re: New Series - Current Artists Week #1
I work with a lot of young people and they are usually surprised to hear that I'm familiar with some of the newer music.

Re: New Series - Current Artists Week #1
I've been a fan of Death Cab For Cutie for a while. This is the first song I had heard from them.

Re: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Great pics Darren :) , you were a cute little guy! It's amazing how so many young people over the years have made their own instruments out of whatever they had at the time. I was not musically inclined, but still dreamed of one day singing in a rock band. Unfortunately, I can't sing  I did ...

Re: When did the Stones start to lose it?
I don't know if I'd say they "lost It", considering they have been out there doing what they do for so many years. But for me and what I like of the Rolling Stones, I'd have to say after 1973, I began to lose interest. I was not fond of Some Girls, but there were a couple songs on Tattoo You that I ...

Re: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Thank you Joey for mentioning the earwax  - LOL
It's great hearing all the old stories. It brings back a lot of memories. One of the things I hadn't mentioned were some of the live shows I attended. By the late 60's, my parents began to associate rock and roll with the drug culture, so I was ...

Re: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Nice pic Kira. Was that your phonograph? I wish I still had mine (just for the memories). I think my Mom probably put it in a garage sale. Mine also had an adapter to play 45's. Remember the old 8 track tapes? I hated those things. If a song was too long, it would stop and continue on another track ...

Re: A Trip Down Memory Lane
This really brings back a lot of memories. I remember my parents listening to the big bands and such, but the first band I really latched onto was the Beatles. I guess it was about 1964. My brother was very into them. Kira, I remember when they were on the Ed Sullivan Show also, but my parents ...

A Trip Down Memory Lane
As the years go by, I'm often reminded of how and when I first started listening to music back in the day. I thought it might be fun to hear how others got started on their musical journeys. Long before you became a musician, just appreciating music as a child, I'm sure we can all relate to topics ...

Re: Rick Wright Passes Away
I have the DVD called" "Remember That Night", which was the "On An Island" tour. I thought about that the other day, and wondered if that was his last appearance. He had such amazing talent. The rock world has lost one of the greats.

Re: The Many Faces Of Eric Clapton
Very interesting stuff Richard. I enjoyed the website. The album that I had was just a white cover with a pic of the band on the front. I knew of the controversial cover, but I didn't know how it came to be. I think the music was great, and it's too bad the band was so short lived.
