Re: R.I.P. David Bowie
I'm heartbroken. He left music & art lessons for all of us. I didn't write decent complete songs with lyrics until I studied his music. Singing his music is how I really figured out my voice...how to control the breaks & use the weak spots to my advantage. It gave me the confidence to becom...

Re: Eberhard Weber
Are you familiar with Terje Gewelt? Another, wonderful bassist. I have one or two of his CDs; I learned about Terje through the defunct Bassics magazine many years ago. His mother-in-law lives in a small town east of Cleveland called Burton. Thanks, :) No, I haven't heard from him, but I will check...

Re: Eberhard Weber
Jeff, thanks for posting, indeed one of the best. In the late eighties he was performing solo concerts and I was lucky to host him when he was playing in the music venue I ran these days here in Munich. Sadly he can't play anymore since a stroke he suffered in 2007 just before a concert with Jan Gar...

[quote="strummersteve"...I also noticed that the Concert for George that no Ricknbackers were used and the only one there was the one in the stand. Just an observation. Perhaps nobody played a Rick in in honor of it being associated with George and did not want to upstage that, so to spea...

Re: The NJ Butcher
Just a word of caution Steven - whilst many of us here find the Jersey Butcher's actions deplorable, there's nothing necessarily illegal in what he does. We simply do not know whether he was aware that his particular bass was stolen when he obtained it and parted it out. In some countries, making d...

When you own a Rick twelve and don't change strings by yourself then you never really come close to your love. That's a basic feeling. Just my two cents.
