Hey Paul and all you experts...
(from a long time browser/reader and occasional poster)
hope this is the appropriate place to post a question about a recent and somewhat bizarre situation with my Rick.
So, I have a '76 4001 in JG. Original owner.
daily player for the first 10 years of it's life ...

Re: SOMEONE STOLE MY RIC
Last night someone smashed my truck window and smashed my Ampeg Head on the street and stole my Rickenbacker. If anyone comes across a 1980 Burgundy Rickenbacker 4001 w/ a Badass Bridge II on it and Serial Number TH 3349 on this forum or ebay or craigslist or any forum please let me know. Thanks ...

Re:
I tried using a Sansamp with the Markbass last night, and it fills out the sound quite nicely. Mixing the two channels works very well with Ric-o-sound in this case, as I can send the Sansamp affected signal to one channel and set up the other channel with a solid bassy foundation tone.

Best amps for Rick-O-Sound
OK here's a question I've not seen before:
What's the best amp for Rick-O-Sound?
I'm thinking a single amp with dual inputs. Could be stereo or simply stereo preamps. I can always run two separate amps (I have a Yorkie 400 head and an old GK 400RB also plus a Dr. Bass stack) but I'm looking ...

I must say I've not played around with any MB equip, but the idea of a 2-channel amp is something I've been considering for a long time for the RoS. When I was shopping last year for new equipment, I took a pass on an older model SWR stereo amp, and the Eden World Traveller at $2k was too rich for ...

Folks: regarding the belt buckle rash problem...when I was younger, in college, I always wore the polishing cloth folded up and tucked over my big belt buckles of the day...or arranged wider to cover the rivets of my jeans. It worked great, and my 76 JG 4001 still looks pretty good...scratched, but ...

having already owned a 1976 JG 4001, and wanting a new 4003, I had exactly the same dilemma: MG or something else? I decided that MG, FG, and JG (which I already had), were the most common, and the AFG would be more uncommon. So, I decided to get something different from the standard colors ...

Well...I beg to differ, or at least offer an alternative. I bought a Yorkville XS 400h. Tube preamp, made in No. America (Canada!) by the same folks as Traynor, and production not moving to China like a lot of brands (ahem...Ampeg), or so I understand. Great warranty. And available for ~$550 shipped ...
