I've been experimenting with the Big Muff and a Line 6 copy of a Mutron 3 envelope follower for a couple of weeks and its amazing! Really cool lead bass tone or for heavy funk.

I totally disagree. I took the handrest off my 4003 and its much more comfortable to play. I am also a fingers-only player and find that most of the time my fingers are landing over the bridge pick-up. I still think any RIC looks great with or without handrest. I guess its just a matter of opinion.

Let me know if and how much adjusting needs to be done. I've heard a lot of good things about those strings, but I also love the factory strings. What are they?

I could'nt survive without my electro-harmonics big muff. I also own a Line 6 Filter Modeler, but its really crazy.
