when i got the bass it had badly worn frets and binding on the neck.

It looks as though someone has stripped the guitar and done some remodeling / re routing and filling + respray

The body is maple. at the time i showed the intact black beast to a few guitar ...

When I got the bass it had an original Rickenbacker truss cover white with black Rickenbacker logo. The tuner holes had been drilled out to accommodate Schaller tuners. The bass had been resprayed ...
