Re: Schaller to Kluson conversion for a 2008 330?
I personally would not go from Schallers to Klusons, though I also would not move away from the Kluson style on a vintage or vintage reissue guitar that came with them. That's the only JL mod I didn't make to my 320, which remains with the original Schallers.

Re: Left-handed tuners?
Personal preference - IMO the Gotoh tuners (same footprint, as noted above) are much superior to the Klusons. All you lose is the stamp "RIC DELUXE".

Though if you see someone selling a "330" with binding on the top, buy it and ask questions later!

360/12 truss rod cover question
I just bought a 360/12 that bears a year 2000 serial number. It appears to be a garden variety Fireglo 360/12 with highgains (a nice garden indeed!) except for the truss rod cover, which is the vintage style - without raised letters. Any thoughts on why this would be?

There's a 2001 DG 330 recently listed on the Register (Sept 2008) that fits that description:

Why GC is not a Rick dealer
I just acquired a 1997 RM from a guy in Dallas. When it arrived I wrote him to ask whether he needed the warranty card that came in the case with the guitar. I like case candy, but this card was for a different guitar. He said that when he bought the 1997 RM from Guitar Center, he needed a case. The ...

Re: The One That Got Away
Cool song. As I said, this guitar came out of Florida. Pretty distinctive wood coloring. Just thought I'd run it by you to see if you recognize it.
